Who is Mahavatar Babaji

Mahavatar Babaji is an immortal Yogi & Guru, living in the Himalayas who is said to have an eternal body. His life becomes alive through the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” written by Paramhansa Yogananda. As per depicted stories in the book, Babaji is a Mahaavatar ( cosmic divine incarnation) who has reanimated Kriya Yoga meditation (a highly developed technique of breathing that quantifies spiritual force evolution to attain enlightenment quickly) in this life span. Babaji delivered the first speech on the Kriya Yoga technique to Lahiri Mahasaya at Kukuchina, on Dunagiri Mountain in Uttarakhand near Dwarahat, Ranikhet in 1861 as inscribed in the book “Autobiography of a Yogi.” It is said that Lahiri Mahasaya was appointed in the Military Engineering Department during the British occupation, in Danapur, West Bengal, in 1861.”
