Mahavatar Babaji is an ageless Yogi & divine Guru, living in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India who has an eternally living body. His life's story becomes alive through the book “Autobiography of a Yogi” written by Paramhansa Yogananda. As per depicted stories in the book, Babaji is a Maha Avatar ( cosmic divine incarnation) who has reanimated Kriya Yoga meditation (a highly developed technique of breathing that quantifies spiritual force evolution to attain enlightenment quickly) in this life span. Babaji delivered the first lecture on Kriya Yoga technique to Lahiri Mahasaya in Kukucchina village, inside a cave, on Dunagiri Mountain in Uttarakhand near Dwarahat, Ranikhet in 1861 as inscribed in the book “Autobiography of a Yogi.”

Mahavatar Babaji Cave is the Birth place of Babaji's Kriya Yoga, the cave is lying inside Dunagiri mountains near Kukucchina village, Dwarahat, Uttarakhand Himalayas, about 435 km from New Delhi and 305 km from Yoga capital town of Rishikesh. The cave became now very Holy place for pilgrims. Hence there is no motorable road to link the Cave from Kukucchina village but there is off road for some extent about 1 km and rest of 2 km you will cover by hiking through pine tree's forest, pilgrims from all over the globe are reaching this Holy Cave to pay visit for prayers and blessings.
