Cave of Mahavatar Babaji is the very spiritual and divine place in the Himalayan Region of Kumaon of Uttarakhand state, the cave is the source of the Kriya yoga’s teachings and it is very place where Guru Lahiri Mahasaya learned Kriya Yoga directly from Mahavatar Baba Ji.
Cave of Mahavatar Babaji marks exact location where Babaji talked about Kriya Yoga to Lahiri Mahasaya in the year of 1861 and now it is known as the birth place of Kriya Yoga in this Kali Yuga in the world.
Almost every day many pilgrims, devotees, tourists and spiritual seekers that follow different paths, religions and traditions are coming in India to see this cave and experience the cave meditation in the wild of remote Himalayas of India.
I personally believe that if you come in Himalayas to see the cave of Babaji, because all seekers’ Yogis and spiritual people connect to their inner self following the footprint of origin of Kriya Yoga teachings.

Mahavatar Babaji Cave is a peaceful and divine site in the Uttarakhand’s Himalayas, sits on holy Dunagiri Mountain, near Dwarahat range in Uttarakhand state of India.
To arrive the cave, you have to reach first Kukuchina village by road and then after easy to moderate challenging walk of 3 kilometers from village. Dwarahat town from Kukuchina village is ajust 25 kilometres / 1 hour road drive. The nearest train station is Kathgodam railway station that connects directly New Delhi railway station, which is near Haldwani city.
The best months and time to see, are September to June. During these months, the weather is nice for walking, sightseeing, and meditation.
