Mahavatar Babaji is an immortal Yogi, living in the Himalayas who is said to have an eternal body. His life becomes alive to through a book "Autobiography of a Yogi" written by Paramhansa Yogananda. As per depicted stories in the book, Babaji is a Mahaavatar ( cosmic divine incarnation) who has reanimated the science of KriyaYoga (a highly developed technique of breathing that quantifies spiritual force evolution to attain enlightenment quickly) in this life span. Babaji delivered the first speech on Kriya Yoga’s teachings to Lahiri Mahasaya at Kukuchina, on Dunagiri Mountain in Uttarakhand near Dwarahat, Ranikhet in 1861 as inscribed in the book “Autobiography of a Yogi.”
It is said that Lahiri Mahasaya was appointed in the Military Engineering Department during the British occupation, in Danapur, West Bengal, in 1861."
This was my first visit to Mahavatar Babaji's Cave in Kukuchina, Dunagiri, is located in Northern India. Not so far from Dwarahat, a small hamlet is famous for temples & YSS Ashram and it has been an amazing experience, visiting cave & ashram. I was blessed by Babaj, experiencing reverberation of Babaji's energy in the cave. After having read the book of Paramahansa Yogananda's book "Autobiography of a yogi". The divine settings of the cave were really insightful. If you are a follower of Kriya Yoga, you must go to live a while at this place where Babaji is living since immortal time.
