Overview: Shiva and Krishna Temples with Mahavatar Babaji Cave
One of Hinduism’s most sacred pilgrimages, the four temples collectively called the Chardham Yatra are all in the northwestern state of Uttarakhand. How did these temples become so world-renowned? Listen closely and you’ll hear the incredible story: According to an ancient legend, it was a revered philosopher, Adi Shankaracharya, who began this pilgrimage and spread awareness of it in an effort to reawaken Hindus and help them understand their own religion.
Having visited all four destinations himself back in the eighth century, Shankaracharya made it his mission to educate people about their faith while they were on this journey – hence giving rise to one of India’s most revered pilgrimages!

Who is Mahavatar Babaji?
Mahavatar Babaji is known to be the great Indian saint who lives in the form of a man and has actually been seen by his followers. On various occasions, he was seen by Paramahansa Yogananda several times and described as one slight man with two eyes but deep wisdom contained within them.
On various occasions, Mahavatar Babaji was also seen by Sri Yukteswar Giri describing him as an old man with great strength and understanding contained within. Personally, I believe we can take inspiration from these people and their stories so that we can even see our own lives filled with success.
